Fringe 2021: Mi:Wi 3027

Date:
Thu, 4 Mar 2021 to Sun, 7 Mar 2021
Presenter:
The Storyteller
Description:
The 3 people Reading of work by playwright Glenn (Gollan) Shea reflects on the incredible true story of an enduring friendship between two young men thrown together by war. The first Ngarrindjeri serviceman from the South Australian community of Raukkan, Roland Carter, and Jewish German ethnologist Leonhard Adam. The comradery that emerged between the two young men, one that was destined to last over forty years, and go through a remarkable reversal through the next World War. Mi:Wi 3027 has sweeping themes of imperialism, oppression, war and an unshakeable longing for freedom. And, at the heart of it all, a friendship that endured through some of the most tumultuous upheavals of the twentieth century. Mi:Wi 3027 had its first play reading at the Raukkan community Hall on April 22 2018.
